That very same year right here in East Cobb, Dr. Kenneth Young opened the doors to his dental office. He loved dentistry. It was his passion. It was a job that was also a hobby. That’s how much dental care impacted Dr. Young. Aside from family, it was his everything, and his patients could tell. They would often sit in his dental chair talking, well beyond their regular dental appointment.
A Family Affair
To this day, his kids, Dr. Julie Tanner and Dr. Jason Young, remember the stories and the patients who were so eager to share them with their father. They also remembered how slow he was, but it was the kind of slow that shows you genuinely care about your patients and their health. As kids, Dr. Julie and Dr. Jason would often act as assistants in their dad’s dental office near Marietta when he so graciously opened the door on a holiday to help a patient and friend in need.
Dr. Young never pushed his kids to pursue a career in dentistry, and later they came back to East Cobb to work alongside him at his practice established on true patient-centered care. He let them follow their own path, and, as fate would have it, they ended up there. Dr. Julie always enjoyed healthcare and working with people. She even knew a little bit about dentistry before making it her career, all thanks to her dad. He paid her for the assistant work so she could earn money to buy her first car. Dr. Jason was originally going to become an architect. Instead, he turned his dexterity and love of working with his hands into ways to help people as a dentist.
A Legacy of Love
Take a step out of the 70s and return to present day. Dr. Julie and Dr. Jason are now running the show where they’re known for continuing their father’s legacy of relationship-driven dentistry. We have an extremely talented associate, Dr. Lily Bock, and a growing number of patients who have been coming to Young & Tanner General Dentistry since 2005.
The funny thing is: our name has changed, but so many friendly faces remain at the office. Patients still like to hang around and talk, because they know we’re in the business of genuinely helping people and not merely putting patient after patient in the dental chair. You’re treated like family because you’re with our family.
